Job location: Speke, Liverpool

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled maintenance team to ensure the reliable operation of the plant assets. The position will be responsible for providing electrical expertise, carrying out repairs on plant equipment in a timely and efficient manner and ensuring equipment is safe and fit for purpose. The position holder will be responsible for safety permits where required and to provide first line supervision for all contactor activity.

The shift pattern is a 3 shift system (6am-2pm. 2pm-10pm, 10am-6pm) and there is a requirement to provide night shift call- out cover on a rota basis (1 week in 4).

Main Tasks:

  • To provide electrical support to the maintenance department in order to carry out repairs on all plant equipment and associated equipment in safe, timely and efficient manner
  • Complete maintenance work orders generated by MAXIMO
  • Carry out mechanical work when required
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment on site is both electrically and mechanically safe
  • Work with production closely when prioritising work load
  • Generate safety permits when required and provide first line supervision to all contractor activity
  • Provide feedback and improvement ideas on the MAXIMO system
  • Ensure critical inventory parts are kept at an optimum level


  • HNC or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering
  • Good knowledge and practice of 17th edition regulations
  • Experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably MAXIMO
  • Work and practical knowledge of inverters, soft starts, 3 phase motors and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), preferably Allen Bradley.
  • Basic mechanical skills e.g. refurbishment and replacement of pumps
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Committed to continuous development
  • Commitment to health and safety procedures, risk systems, permit to work procedures and condition auditing
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience managing contractors- preferred
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles- preferred
  • RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance), RCA (Root Cause Analysis) or FMEA (Failure Mode Effective Analysis)
