Electrical & Mechanical Engineer

West Bromwich

£30,000 to £40,000

Our West Bromwich based client is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their established business. The purpose of the role will be to support both planned and reactive maintenance work on a wide range of manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative and corrective electrical maintenance; PLC controlled systems, fault finding, single and three phase supplies, diagnostics and repairs
  • Take part in routine meetings, reporting on maintenance issues
  • Create and adhere to PM schedules
  • Undertake corrective actions as required by senior management
  • Monitor maintenance downtime issues and conduct equipment analysis to ensure efficient performance
  • Lead improvement programs as required
  • Monthly progress reporting
  • Maintain an adequate supply of critical spares
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Ensure all work adheres to company procedures and safety systems are effective

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, BS 7671 Amendment 3 (City & Guilds 2382-15 - QCF Level 3)
  • Initial Verification, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (Logic Certification QCF Level 3) Health & Safety - Manual Handling
  • Health & Safety - Fire Safety
  • Health & Safety - Asbestos Awareness
  • Health & Safety - Working at Heights

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Lathe/Milling machine operation
  • Hydraulics
  • Experience within an FMCG/Packaging environment

This role will primarily be Monday - Friday, working a day shift. However on occasion there could be a requirement for weekend working, agreed in advance.
