As they continue to expand into the international market place, our client are currently seeking two Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to join their production facility

Job Purpose:

The successful candidates will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures, P.L.C.’s, P.C.’s and robots (A.B.B.) using hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attending breakdowns as requested, assessing the cause, stripping down and determining the best method of repair
  • Completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines to a pre-determined schedule
  • Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Having the ability to read electrical, British and European standard drawings
  • Installing replacement components or carrying out repairs using necessary equipment
  • Reassembling, checking and test running all equipment for effective and safe operation following repair and return to production
  • Fabricating repair parts by using machine shop and welding shop equipment
  • Assess requirements for repair/replacement parts, determining the most appropriate time for repairs to be carried out and ordering from Maintenance office
  • Completing required documentation i.e. Pemac work orders or time sheets
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits to electrical engineering drawings, equipment and fixtures using multi-meter
  • Strictly adhering to safe working practices, procedures and risk assessments when repairing machinery, entering confined spaces, working at height etc. along with the correct P.P.E
  • Ensure appropriate isolation and key exchange procedures are carried out
  • Direct and train Apprentices as requested by management

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Having previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Be conversant with (Pemac 5,) with the ability to report on Pemac work order
  • Must be NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualified
  • Making decisions and problem solving
  • Communicating with facilitators, peers and subordinates
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work, gather information via manufacturer’s handbooks, drawings and/or internet
  • Evaluating information and determine compliance with set standards

Working Hours:

  • These positions work on a 10 week shift pattern covering Days, Nights and Evening shifts
