Electrical Engineering Technician - Facilities

Our Client is looking for an NVQ level 3 qualified Electrical Engineering Technician - Facilities / Utilities with industrial experience to complete PPM and reactive works across the Facilities on site. This is a temporary assignment for 6 months in Basingstoke with potential of going permanent.

Description

The successful Electrical Engineering Technician - Facilities will be completing:

  • Carry out planned maintenance on Facilities and Utilities
  • Carry out maintenance and corrective works on all site facilities
  • Respond to breakdowns and diagnose common faults
  • Carry out root cause analysis and implement counter measures
  • Identify any improvements that can be made to ensure the efficiency and safe operation
  • Select materials appropriate to the location environment of the work in accordance with UK regulations and legislation.
  • Proactively reduce site running costs by identifying improvements and efficiency measures
  • Coordinate parts sourcing ordering and control costs on work load
  • Assist in commissioning of new equipment
  • Report all incidents and hazards. Conform to and maintain area safety standards for safe working practices and good house keeping
  • Actively promote health and safety awareness
  • Coordinate work load using the company computerised maintenance management system
  • Ensure clear and accurate inform is frequently updated in accordance with a quality control requirements
  • Communicate and liaise with other departments to allow completion against set timescales
  • Assist all contractors as required.

Profile

The Successful Electrical Engineering Technician - Facilities will ideally be based in Basingstoke:

Essential

  • City and Guild Level 3 NVQ electrotechnical systems
  • City and Guild Level 3 requirements of installations BS7671: 2011
  • City and Guild Level 3 Inspection and Testing of electrical equipment
  • AM2 Certificate of electrotechnical occupational competence

Desirable

  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering Higher National Certificate
  • IPAF 3a 3b
  • First aid at work
  • Legionella awareness
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Competent person pressure systems
  • Knowledge in refrigeration and air conditioning
  • Experience working with Steam boilers
  • Understanding of continuous improvement techniques
  • Proven track record working in the Industrial Industry

Job Offer

£16 - £18 per hour

Lots of Overtime

Shift pattern Monday to Friday, Early is 0600 - 1400 & Late is 1400 - 2200 hours (Flexible)

Site based - good work life balance
