A large organisation within Nottinghamshire is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team and take a leading role within Operations on site. This company have many sites throughout the UK, with performance focused on a number of areas which include, waste collection, disposal and energy recovery from waste.

The Electrical Engineer who will be predominantly working on a days based shift pattern having the responsibility to maintain and improve electrical machinery on site and also act as a deputy to the Electrical Team Leader within their absence. Whilst this is a days based Monday – Friday role, you will be required to be on call on a rota.

Ideally, the business is looking for someone with the desired skill set, however if you are lacking in certain areas, don’t worry. What’s also very important to this Engineering company is having the right attitude and desire to learn as if you are inexperienced or don’t have the required skill set, then you will receive guidance and training on this.
The basic experience/skills you need to bring to this role include:

Electrical Background – A recognised qualification will be needed.
Confidence in reading Electrical Drawings.
Ability to Fault Find on machinery (PLC experience would be ideal, however Fault Finding to component level is appropriate too) and familiarity with equipment used within PAT testing.
Have good ICT skills.
A knowledge of Health and Safety and performing work in a safe manner.

The company will invest in their staff to get you to the required level, however if you can bring this experience/skills, it will be ideal:

Inspection and Testing qualifications
Working on Low and High Voltage equipment
PLC Faul Finding on Allen Bradley controls.
The ability to edit and program PLCs
Creation of Electrical Drawings.
Supervision of staff.
Inventory Management.

What you will be doing...

The role will draw upon previous Electrical experience, which may come from an Engineering environment or something similar.

You will be tasked with performing planned and reactive maintenance on a range of different machinery, including: Conveyors, Control Panels, Robots, as well as more general equipment such as PCs and Cameras. This will not be your only responsibility though as there is a Maintenance Team on site.

Your workload will also include routinely inspections and tests of machinery on site, to ensure they are of a safe working order, using a range of different tools.

Within the role, you will need to be able to prioritise your workload and liaise heavily with other departments on site, most notable the Maintenance Team but potentially also external contractors.

The role may also call for the need to perform Mechanical Maintenance at times.
