Part of site Engineering department, working in the Electrical Support team, reporting to the Site Responsible Electrical Engineer. Responsible for the safe operation of the site's HV and LV distribution networks in addition to providing technical, professional development and line management support to the IEC team. The role holder shall be a HV Senior Authorised Person with the authority to permit HV testing - removal of system earths.
Perform all duties at all times in compliance with all corporate and EHS, business conduct policies, guidelines and the local site Life Saving Rules at all times. Complete all Corporate Compliance training.
Supervise and develop the shift asset engineers to ensure the delivery of an effective I/E breakdown response to the shift production team.
Supervise and develop the statutory electrical inspections team to ensure that all statutory electrical requirements are met to schedule.
Control and direct the HV maintenance and switching activities for the Site.
Provide coordination and day to day direction of the Central I/E Team and cover the absence of the Responsible I/E Engineer.
Write and maintain electrical safe systems of work and switching plans.
Develop and mentor electrical training programmes including new starter inductions and multi-skilling packages to ensure that personal safety and effective competence levels are maintained and where possible improved.
Co-ordinate shutdown and equipment installation requirements to ensure that plant teams are effectively communicated changes and make plant available when required.
Provide technical support to the production teams.
Identify improvement opportunities within the I/E department and develop a continuous improvement strategy to capitalize on these ideas.
Ideally degree qualified or a minimum of a HND/equiv in electrical engineering with extensive experience of line managing specialist teams of technicians in a high hazard environment. Experience of chemical process environments would be highly desirable.
