Electrical & Electronics Engineer

Title: Electrical & Electronics Engineer - Growing Oil & Gas business with fantastic Career Opportunities

Salary: Circ. £35,000 dependent on experience

Position: Permanent, Full Time

Metron is a rapid growth Engineering Services business focused on maximising economic recovery in the oil and gas industry. We deliver a variety of technical services that help our clients to improve operational efficiency within their businesses.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Onshore and offshore project delivery in the following areas;

  • Machinery condition monitoring
  • HV and LV electrical systems
  • Fire and gas/safety systems
  • Controls and instrumentation
  • Electrical and electronic equipment maintenance
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Reliability studies
  • Maintenance engineering
  • Supporting software systems

Additional duties and responsibilities

  • Work in accordance with defined Metron, client and project procedures
  • Design, develop and deliver technically robust client focused solutions
  • Embrace and support our culture of continuous improvement, shared learning and team work
  • Provide performance reporting to Lead Engineer/Operations Manager
  • Maintain awareness and compliance with departmental and project objectives
  • Operate as part of a competent motivated team using the PDR system to set clear goals, development objectives and provide feedback
  • Support excellent customer service behaviours
  • Maintain, develop and promote the Metron brand
  • Keep up to date with current best practice and new technologies and adopt when appropriate
  • Be a role model in terms of style, teamwork and pace
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with quality objectives and requirements of all tasks performed
  • Have a responsibility to co-operate with supervisors and manger on HSSE matters
  • Not to interfere with anything provided to safeguard their H&S and the environment
  • Take reasonable care to protect their own health and safety
  • Responsible for reporting any HSSE concerns to the appropriate person
  • Expected to fully understand and comply with the HSSE objectives and requirements of any task undertaken

Skills and Training

  • Practical hands-on track record
  • Technically competent across a broad range of equipment and disciplines
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Written and oral communication (English)
  • Assertive - able to get your point across without causing offence
  • Quick learner and willing to share knowledge to develop others

Experience

  • Report writing
  • Working in similar hand-on technical roles in the areas defined above
  • Field service experience with a rotating equipment manufacturer
  • Workshop repairs experience
