About the role
We now have an opportunity for an Electrical / Electronic Technician to join our ISIS Target Station Controls team. The team is responsible for the design, procurement, installation and maintenance of all of the electrical, instrumentation and control systems for ISIS Target Stations 1 and 2.
You will support the work of the Target Station engineers, providing assistance with all aspects of the work undertaken by the team, along with independently carrying out further essential support tasks that allow the team to deliver the target station functions, including:
assist with the design, development and installation of Target Control Systems
assist with fault finding on installed Target Control Systems
build, test and install electrical and electronic control equipment
manage record drawings using AutoCAD and Meridian
organise a lab and two small workshop
procure materials, components and spares
organise and carry out PAT testing.
This role will require some work within radiation controlled environments
You will hold an engineering apprenticeship and/or be qualified to at least ONC level or equivalent in engineering, along with relevant electrical or electronic engineering / technician experience.
You will demonstrate experience/knowledge of:
reading and understand circuit diagrams
electrical systems fault finding to component level
single and three phase power distribution
BS7671 IET wiring regulations
It is desirable that you also have experience of PAT testing and have familiarity with PLC based systems.
You will display good communication and interpersonal skills to work as part of a team.
