Electrical Design Engineer/Surveyor

Posted 9 April by Calibre Search Easy Apply Featured

Joining this national building consultancy, you will be working from home and the Leeds office (well placed for the M62 and M1 corridor) with the focus of your role being to provide a mix of surveying, audit, compliance, feasibility and design services through to project management and witness testing for a range of buildings encompassing distribution centres, warehousing, retail and workshops.

It is the type of position that you would typically find working for an in-house organisation but without the benefit of flexibility that this company can offer and support from colleagues around the country in a range of disciplines.

With this position you have a huge amount of autonomy, direct contact with the end client and the power to influence how they and the rest of the supply chain manages their (mainly) own properties while having limited need to worry about the additional link in the chain that landlords often turn out to be.

It is expected that you have either moved from being a full time design engineer and one in to carrying out asset/project work, or possibly have moved from maintenance in to estates and be able to demonstrate a track record of success in the delivery refurbishment, upgrade and extension type projects.

You should also have a minimum of a HNC qualification in building services engineering/electrical engineering coupled with the ability to use CAD knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 coupled with SFG 20, but most importantly the desire and level of self organisation to be able to work remotely and be based from home.

In terms of rewards, the practice is able to offer a competitive salary, enhanced pension contribution and holiday package and support for Chartership should you wish to progress there.

While the post has a UK wide brief to it, the schedule of works and programme would see you working within a commutable distance from home/Leeds for the majority of the time only spending one or two nights away from home every other week.

In all this is a novel role and one which is a natural opportunity to progress as a designer, project engineer or contracts engineer and move to being that much closer to the client.
