Role Purpose:

Working within the Engineering Section of the Technical Department the role of Electrical Design /Development Engineer is to support the growth and expansion of new and existing products from initial concept through to routine build.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with the nominated Principal Engineer / Applications Engineers, you will:

  • Develop designs for new products / line extensions.
  • Develop and design new standards for new and existing products in line with ENA and customer specifications.
  • Develop and implement Engineering RoadMap projects.
  • Create new and review existing working practices to support the site CI initiatives.
  • Work with the Engineering Leadership Team to develop best practices, efficiency improvement whilst supporting the growth and development of the Technical Section.
  • Liaise directly with Manufacturing and Quality team members on issues relating to drawings and BOM’s.
  • Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptualise plans and details to accurately convey fabrication requirements.
  • Provide engineering support and assistance to customers and internal departments.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD systems, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Previous CAD drawing experience.
  • Relevant experience in a similar industrial environment role.
  • Recognised Apprenticeship would be of advantage.
  • Experience of switchgear design and/or utilisation would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills.
  • A good understanding of fundamental Mechanical and Electrical principles.
  • Knowledge of electrical protection systems would be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferably qualified to first degree level in an Electrical Power Systems discipline or HNC Engineering / Electrical / Electronics/ background or functional experience
