Position: Electrical Contracts Designer

Role Purpose:

Working within the engineering section of the technical department the role of electrical contracts designer is to supplement the technical team within the department with the primary function of equipment design and production of Bills of Materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Working under the direct supervision of the nominated principle engineer and the work instruction and/or specifications produced by the applications engineers.

·Produce, design and/or modify drawings.
·Liaise directly with manufacturing and quality team members on issues relating to drawings and BOMs.
·Assist in the production of contract job packs and other manufacturing and quality deliverables as required to meet on time delivery schedules.
·Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptualise plans and details to accurately convey fabrication requirements.
·Provide engineering support and assistance to customers and internal departments.

Qualifications or Functional Experience:

·ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
·Relevant experience in a similar industrial environment role.
·Previous CAD drawing experience.
·Engineering background.
·Recognised apprenticeship would be advantageous.

Knowledge:

·Good IT skills in Microsoft Office & project.
·Proficient in AutoCAD systems, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.
·Knowledge of electrical protection systems would be advantageous.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
