This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our passionate and knowledgeable plant maintenance department as an Electrical Apprentice. This exciting role will see you provide electrical service and maintenance to fixed and mobile plant.


Brightling underground mine produces both gypsum and cement rock for use by British Gypsum plants and the general cement industry.



Job description:

What will you be doing in the role?


In the role as an Electrical Apprentice you will;



  • Follow the requirements of the Apprenticeship Framework.
  • Work in a safe manner, reporting risks to their supervisor.
  • Assist with electrical work including maintenance of electrical systems on fixed and mobile plant.
  • Be involved with work planning.
  • Assist with the design, build and install electrical and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems in conjunction with colleagues.

  • Have a can do attitude, willing to show initiative and responsibility.
  • Follow processes and systems in order to be productive and safe.
  • Be passionate about working as part of a team and learning.
  • Have completed or soon to complete 2nd year of an Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • Good mathematics, science and written English skills.
