An exciting opportunity has arisen with West Suffolk Councils to become an Elections Services Team Leader. You will join our Elections team across West Suffolk Council. You will join us on a Full Time, Permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £24,174 - £24,964 per annum depending on qualifications/experience (potentially rising to £29,323 through annual Performance Review awards).

The Elections Services Team Leader role:
The Elections team are responsible for providing efficient and effective administration of the electoral registration and election processes.
As our Elections Services Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a busy electoral services team in ensuring the successful delivery of the electoral registration and elections services at West Suffolk councils. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the team and will assist the Electoral Services Manager in ensuring that the service is delivered efficiently, accurately and timely whilst meeting all statutory and procedural requirements. Some previous supervisory experience would be an advantage. You will be expected to complete the AEA (Association of Electoral Administrators) foundation and certificate courses. You will be advising and assisting members of the public, parish clerks and Councillors, both in person and by phone and will need good communication skills and proven experience of dealing with the public
This post is based at both, West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds and Forest Heath District Council offices in Mildenhall.
Our ideal Elections Services Team Leader:
Good ICT and keyboard skills with experience of Microsoft packages is essential.
Excellent organisational skills and working with precision and speed are essential as is the ability to use own initiative and solve problems, prioritise work load and meet deadlines. You will need to be a great team player to deliver the much increased workload during election periods.
Experience of working within Elections isn’t necessary as training will be provided.
