The Role

Our Client is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated EHS Technician to work in the EHS team at its Cardiff site. The EHS Technician would be expected to provide radiological safety support to all the Site functions and to manage the Sites waste routes including:

• Radiological surveys of specified areas of site
• Clearance of items leaving designated areas and site
• Supervision of contractors
• Radiological support for facilities
• Activity assessment of waste and equipment
• Dosimetry of staff, visitors and contractors
• Decontamination of staff, visitors, contractors and equipment
• Waste consignment both on and off site
• Liquid scintillator counter management

Essential Requirements

• BSc Chemistry or equivalent 
• Full Clean driving licence
• Understanding & awareness of safety processes and procedures
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyse and write up data
• Competence in the use of Microsoft Software packages Word, Excel, Power point
• Proven ability to work in an organised manner and effectively prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines
• Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations in a professional manner
• Work independently without supervision
• Ability to problem solve
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
