We are an independent specialist college for young people (aged 16-25) with a range of learning difficulties, currently supporting 22 students. We have a strong arts, crafts and cultural focus. The Mount works actively with the Camphill Community impulse and anthroposophy.We are seeking a highly experienced professional to exercise leadership in, and take responsibility for, all aspects of the education provision. To work collaboratively in providing oversight of the organisation and development of the College, and to work collaboratively with colleagues and groups in meeting the needs of the Community.The key areas of activity are: Provide leadership in the development of education strategy and policy, particularly in relation to curriculum and assessment, including the unique Mount approach To raise our profile in the wider community to attract, and maintain, student admissions Support professional development, mentoring and appraisal processes for tutors Ensure integration of, and college support for the anthroposophical view of the human being throughout learning and teaching processes Manage all external relationships including those with commissioning local authorities/ LA inspection visits and Ofsted Keep informed of developments and good practice in the sector Implement and improve quality assurance processes for education, including writing the self-assessment report and develop and monitor the annual rolling quality improvement plan Manage and improve the quality of all student journey processes Oversee progress tracking and reporting processes and work closely with the Student Programme Co-Ordinator in the planning and monitoring of individual programmes, and the reporting and tracking of student progress Promote best practice in the learning and teaching and actively demonstrate role model attitude to policies and procedures of The MountThe post is full-time 41 weeks per year. 37.5 hours per week.To commence by September 2021 or earlierPrincipal objectives To exercise leadership in, and take responsibility for all aspects of the education provision To work collaboratively with the Management and Leadership group in providing oversight of the organisation and development of the College To work collaboratively with colleagues and groups in meeting the needs of the CommunityMain responsibilities and Role description Provide leadership in the development of education strategy and policy, particularly in relation to curriculum and assessment, including the unique Mount approach Work collaboratively to develop and improve policies used across the college, joint issues, holding overview of the whole college and development of the college, meeting regularly, and sharing feedback from the groups and faculties. To support with marketing to raise our profile in the wider community to attract, and maintain, student admissions Support professional development, mentoring and appraisal processes for tutors Oversee performance management processes for tutors Ensure integration of, and college support for the anthroposophical view of the human being throughout learning and teaching processes Manage all external relationships including those with commissioning local authorities, DFE and Ofsted Keep informed of developments and good practice in the sector Implement and improve quality assurance processes for education, including writing the self-assessment report Develop and monitor the annual rolling quality improvement plan Manage and improve the quality of all student journey processes Admission processes- liaising with LA'S, contributing to tribunals/appeals, calculating costings working closely with Admissions Group to provide a full picture of funding applications Oversee progress tracking and reporting processes Work closely with the Student Programme Co-ordinator in the planning and monitoring of individual programme's, and the reporting and tracking of student progress Work closely with the Student Programme Co-ordinator in the registration, assessment and verification of all accreditation Lead Education Faculty meetings and agendas Exercise responsibility for tutor and co-worker deployment including timetabling Oversight of the college risk register report, and be accountable to Trustees for the education provision Promote best practice in the learning and teaching and actively demonstrate role model attitude to policies and procedures of The Mount Cover sessions where needed/work face to face with Students Participation in Community eventsEssential qualifications and knowledge Diploma or degree level qualification in teaching Experience of regularly delivering consistently good and outstanding teaching.
