Carry out enforcement duties on all relevant legislation and current regulations, relating to waste, litter, fly tipping, fly posting and dog fouling within the County Borough, initiating appropriate action, including the issuing of statutory notices and fixed penalties in accordance with relevant legislation. Where necessary attending Court to present evidence in support of any legal action pursued by the Council.
Monitor the performance of the waste services contract reporting any issues to the Waste and Cleaner Streets Manager.
Provide advice, education, and participate in exhibitions and presentations to the public and householders, which support recycling and waste minimisation along with responsible dog ownership, anti-litter and fly tipping campaigns which are supported by the Council.
Investigate abandoned vehicles and arrange removal if necessary.
Ensure Health and Safety compliance of the Waste Services Contract with regard to working methods covering staff, equipment, and vehicles through regular monitoring and inspection regimes.
Experience of report writing
Experience of criminal law enforcement, including PACE procedures
Knowledge and experience of administrative and computer systems.
Experience of working within a cleansing role and an understanding of the importance of a clean environment
