Salary: Grade 8 - Starting at £32,523 per annum and rising to £35,841
Job Type: Full Time - 37 Hours, Permanent

In this Economic Development Officer role you will communicate with and support existing businesses; help new business start-ups; attract inward investment; seek the necessary funding to deliver new infrastructure; deliver a range of inward investment initiatives, work with Planning colleagues in developing the Local Plan; carry out research and work with a range of external organisations to maximise the economic benefit for Chelmsford.
The ideal Economic Development Officer will have an expert knowledge and understanding of; the dynamics of local economies, the principles of place marketing and promotion, and a good knowledge of national and regional policies affecting economic development.
With experience working in a multi-agency, partnership environment the successful candidate will also have a high level of communication skills and the ability to lead, influence and drive forward economic development initiatives. We are looking for a dynamic "can do" person with an ability to take the initiative and think strategically and practically.
