As an eCommerce Merchandiser you will use product knowledge and insight from data analysis to implement an effective merchandising, search and navigation strategy on our website, to maximise profitability in line with company objectives. With an eye for detail, proactive approach and a passion for eCommerce, you’ll work with the wider eCommerce team, key partners and third parties to measure results and deliver improvements to our KPIs ensuring a seamless end-to-end online shopping experience.

Your role will cover the following:

  • Manage product placement online, ensuring all products are attributed correctly and appearing in all relevant lister pages and filter option
  • Present the most appropriate categories throughout navigation, menus and category pages
  • Maintenance of on-site search, including zero result searches, synonyms, redirects to relevant pages and ensuring high volume searches return appropriate results
  • Complete weekly reporting, competitor research, category performance and be aware of daily sales to ensure proactive merchandising decisions are made to meet our KPIs
  • Working with team members and supporting teams such as buying & merchandising and marketing to react to shorter term opportunities that arise, maximising the sales opportunity
  • Manage online promotions and seasonal website changes
  • Attend weekly meetings such as the homepage meeting with innovative ideas and plans to make our homepage stand out against competitors
  • Work with the content and email teams to deliver merchandised product categories to meet requirements, building any new categories or re-using existing category urls wherever possible
  • Use category knowledge and understanding to present the most appropriate facets, to aid product selection throughout the site to ensure the customer experience is at its best

The successful candidate will have the demonstrable experience of the following:

  • Excellent MS Excel knowledge
  • Experience using web analytics software, such as Google Analytics
  • Awareness of online marketing channels used to drive traffic to websites
  • An active interest and understanding of outdoor and sports industries would be advantageous
  • Experience working within online merchandising
  • Time management skills to manage workload effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience managing time and workload under pressure, and within tight deadlines
  • Good commercial awareness, to prioritise the opportunities for improvement available
  • Strong interpersonal skills
