As an ecologist, you will be based in the Glasgow office and will be required to assist in the continued delivery of specialist environmental consultancy services. Duties will principally involve project management covering all aspects of preliminary ecological appraisal, targeted protected species surveys, ecological clerk of works and the associated technical report writing. Ability to travel and work throughout the Scotland area and to hold a newt licence is essential. Class 2 Bat licence will be hugely advantageous.
From day one, you will have the chance to gain exposure to project management, client liaison and independence with the help of 10+ Principal Ecologist based all over the UK.
To progress you will need to have,
*Relevant degree in ecology or directly related subject
*Relevant consultancy experience with a strong focus on preliminary ecological assessments, Phase 1 ecological survey and planning support.
*Excellent understanding of UK nature conservation legislation, including environmental impact assessments and planning guidance.
*Good report writing skills.
*Proven experience of working in a team delivering projects on-time and to tight deadlines.
*Hold a newt licence and preferably a class 2 bat licence
