As a busy Ecologist, are you tired of timesheets?

Are you looking for a role where you can focus on what you do best?

Lets face it, if you're an experienced Ecologist, you don't need to be told when and where to work.

You've been doing this for years, and you're fully capable of managing your own schedule. But if your current role still has you tracking every minute of your day with timesheets, adhering to pointless office hours, and following rigid working patterns, then you've probably had enough.

Maybe it's time to join a consultancy where trust and respect are at the heart of everything they do. Who believe that Ecologists are at their best when they're given the freedom to manage their own time. Which means no mandated office hours, and definitely no micromanaging. Where you'll have the flexibility to work from home - or wherever you work best - when you're not out on site.

If you're looking for a role where your autonomy is respected and where you're free to do what you do best without being bogged down with tracking hours and filling out timesheets, this could be the perfect fit.

About the role:

As Consultant or Senior Ecologist, you'll be primarily involved in delivering protected species surveys and biodiversity net gain (BNG) consultancy to clients. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an environment where you're trusted to manage your own workload.

You'll also enjoy the challenge of balancing your clients' development ambitions with the protection of natural capital, all while working alongside a team that values well-being and professional growth.

And if you're a more experienced Senior; Principal or Associate? This could be a great opportunity to shape your next role. Whether you're looking to:
- Niche further into a particular specialism such as BNG, herpetofauna, bats, PEA, HRA and River Condition Assessment...
- Be more involved coaching and developing junior members of the team...
- Be more desk-based, more field-based, or achieve a more balanced mix of the two...
...this could be a great opportunity to tailor a role to best fit your strengths and preferences.

What's in it for you?

It's not just unmatched flexibility. Some of the incredible benefits you'll enjoy as part of this team include:

  • Industry-leading salaries ranging from £28,000 - £38,000 for Consultant, £38,000 - £45,000 for Senior. Principal or Associate? The sky is the limit.
  • Time Off: Up to 40 days paid annual leave, plus 4 extra paid days off for R&D projects, enhanced parental leave, and even paid sabbaticals
  • Learning: An unlimited CPD fund and paid overtime to read books that help you learn new skills
  • Recognition: A review process focused on contributions to culture and team success
  • Medical Insurance: The most comprehensive insurance available, with full cancer care and outpatient cover, plus additional rewards
  • Bonuses: Peer-to-peer gifting scheme, £500 cash bonuses for special life events, Christmas bonuses, and recruitment referrals
  • Wellbeing: Paid memberships like Spotify / Audible / Blinkist, gym / fitness discounts, an iPad, and fitness watch
  • Socials: All-expenses-paid socials throughout the year from festivals to spa breaks, and even multi-day trips abroad - plus a regular mini-social budget to meet up with colleagues in your region

About you:

  • You have minimum 2+ full years of UK ecology consultancy experience, conducting protected species surveys, ecological assessments, and PEAs
  • You're confident using UKHabs
  • You're energetic, organised, and detail-oriented, with an eagerness to learn
  • You hold a full UK driving license
