Your new role
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will help plan and deliver educational activities, maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment, and provide individual support to children who need extra help. You will observe and assess children's progress, promote positive behaviour and social skills, and communicate with parents about their child's development. Additionally, you would handle administrative tasks like preparing materials and maintaining records, and ensure the health and safety of children during all activities. It's a rewarding role where you contribute significantly to children's early development.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed as an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you need patience, empathy, and good communication skills. Creativity and organisational abilities are important for planning activities and managing tasks. You should be observant to assessing children's progress and flexible in adapting to different situations. Teamwork is essential, as is a passion for education. Basic first aid knowledge and relevant qualifications can also be beneficial.
