EAL teaching assistant

Full time supply opportunity to work as an EAL teaching assistant in a Manchester based secondary school, from February half term or sooner if possible.

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a centrally located Manchester school (11-16) to help aid their supply needs. Due to a temporary position within their support staff team, the school are looking for an EAL teaching assistant to join their team on a full time basis. This position will involve working with children from a range of cultural and social backgrounds, including children who speak English as a second language, previous experience or the ability to speak Urdu, Punjabi would be advantageous for any interested applicants. You will work with children in small groups and on an individual basis, with a focus to develop their English language skills and improve their confidence during the regular school day.

  • EAL teaching assistant

  • Full time on going supply position starting after February half term

  • Must have previous experience delivering EAL support in a secondary school

  • Languages speaking daily include; Punjabi, Urdu and eastern European languages

  • Supply position initially on a full time long term basis

  • Rate of pay to match previous experience (weekly supply pay)

Situated roughly 15 minutes south of Manchester city centre, this is a modern mixed secondary school with excellent facilities and a supportive team of staff.
