Assistant Scientists needed with chemistry/forensic science degree Nottingham

Hays Recruitment are actively recruiting for an assistant scientist to work in a laboratory setting in the Nottingham area.

To carry out a wide range of specified routine analytical tasks within an analytical section of the laboratory to provide a high quality, efficient and cost effective analytical service to internal and external customers.

Analyse samples to ensure effective delivery of a high quality analytical service to defined time, cost and quality targets.

Ensure that quality control procedures are complied with at all times so that Agency standards are met and UKAS accreditation maintained.

Maintain the appropriate working knowledge of state-of-the-art equipment, technology and methodology.

Analyse formal samples following prescribed standards to assist in the provision of analytical data for legal prosecutions in court.

Assist the Senior Assistant Scientist in the training of new staff.

Comply with Health & Safety standards, policies and procedures.

Desired Educational level - A-level or Degree trained (preferably in a Chemistry discipline).

Hours of work - 37 hours (shifts either Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday).

Successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check.

Progression available on a long-term temporary basis.
