Duty Planning Manager

Posted 6 days ago by Civil Nuclear Constabulary

You’ve planned before.

But nothing this critical.

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our first-class teams. As a Duty Planning Manager, you won’t just be part of a professional and specialist department - you’ll do it all within a dynamic and stimulating work environment.

In this role, you’ll manage the Duty Planning team, as well as the effective deployment of our front-line policing. Depending on size, this could range from 150 - 500 officers. As part of this, you’ll oversee the production of the weekly duty roster. You’ll also provide a key support role by deploying training management for units and departments within their area of responsibility. And it will be your role to ensure the Duty Planning function is running smoothly. You’ll do this by chairing departmental meetings, and raising any actions needed to improve the service.

To join us, you’ll bring previous line management experience, and be able to lead and motivate a team. You’ll also need to know how to understand and apply a range of complex procedures, and be comfortable analysing statistical data and writing reports. In fact, you’re a skilful problem-solver, adept at making important and positive decisions. Of course, it’s essential you have a background of co-ordinating and planning, and come with an excellent attention to detail. Due to the nature of our work, you’ll also need to maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
