Offering pioneering security solutions across the globe, our client specialises in ensuring customers’ safety, protection and peace of mind. They are now looking for a Duty Manager to join their team at the National Gallery.

In our client’s line of work, it is the little things that count. While these everyday acts of heroism might go unnoticed in society by many, they rarely miss them.

Keeping some of the nation’s finest artwork safe is an important job. You will act as a custodian of culture, ensuring that priceless pieces of art and sculpture are kept safely, and members of the public can enjoy them in the most appropriate setting possible.

So, if you are a security professional with a valid SIA licence and a history of managing teams in a pressurised environment, this is the ideal role in which to develop your career and the perfect company to support you in this.

As the Duty Manager, specifically, your role will involve managing the National Gallery site in terms of day-to-day operational requirements for security and related services.

Maintaining an awareness of National Gallery aims and objectives as well as management and customer expectations, you will oversee various teams and be involved in all aspects of staff welfare, conduct and performance. You will also drive teams to deliver consistent quality service delivery and provide prompt and appropriate security responses to any incidents.

Your role will also involve:

- Managing teams consisting of Team Leaders and Officers
- Ensuring all work is delivered in line with all legal and contractual obligations
- Acting as the key security contact for all daily operational security matters
- Working in partnership with others to ensure all site security and fire prevention aspects are managed
- Managing the deployment of the on-site teams
- Briefing security teams on relevant matters

Interested? If so, you will need:

- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
- Experience of managing team in a pressurised environment

Due to the nature of this role you will also need a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment or full and part-time education during that period.

A leader and influencer of others, as the Duty Manager, you will also need strong communication skills, the ability to manage conflict and excellent team-working capabilities. You’ll also need to be self-motivated, decisive and able to remain calm and alert when under pressure.

This is a full time role, working 42 hours per week.
