What does the role involve?
If you are interested in this role you will need to hold a digi-tacho card and have completed a full 35 hours of CPC training as well as the Class C1 HGV licence.
It is a busy role that will see you delivering to a schedule and working to timescales. The friendly and helpful face of our company, once at a customer location; you will operate the offloading equipment and make sure that all paperwork is completed accurately. Therefore a Moffatt licence is desirable for some of our roles.
Being a Driver at SIG means you will work in a safety critical role, therefore you will be expected to maintain good care of your vehicle, perform daily safety checks, and keep transport documents and paperwork updated. SIG operate a Zero Harm policy which all employees must adhere to when undertaking their duties. We also have an Alcohol and Substance Misuse Policy which includes random testing for those in Safety Critical roles.
To apply, you must have less than 6 points on your licence and have a proven track record of driving for a delivery or Distribution Company and the ability to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle. Friendly and professional, you will know how to manage your time well and will enjoy interacting with customers.
Last but not least you’ll ideally hold a Forklift/Forklift Truck licence as well as Moffatt and Hiab which are desirable for some roles although not essential.
