Draughtsperson - Sheffield - £24,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

Clemence Rogers are recruiting a Draughtsperson to work at a Sheffield based manufacturing company, who have decades of experience in design, manufacture and supply of their specialist products. Which they export to companies globally.

They are currently looking to recruit a Draughtsperson/Quality Supervisor to produce CAD drawings for their products to the required company and industry standards. Perform inspections to confirm that the work is carried out to the correct specifications and quality is maintained of the products and operational quality systems.

Duties

* Produce 2D CAD drawings to the required standard for production and ensure all measurements are present and correct

* Follow work instructions for processes involved in the production of the product

* Read customer drawings accurately and produce designs to accurately reflect the customer requirements

* Use a CMM machine and replicate customers sample products by means of producing clear technical drawings.

* Maintain the drawings register

* Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements

* Meets quality cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions

* Approves incoming materials by auditing adherence to specifications, conduct of visual and measurement tests, and materials rejection

* Approves in-process production by auditing adherence to specifications, conduct of visual and measurement tests, and communication of required adjustments to production staff

* Approves finished products by auditing adherence to specifications, conduct of visual and measurement tests, return of products for re-work, and confirmation of re-work

* Documents inspection results by completing reports; auditing re-work and waste reports; inputting data into quality database

* Using dedicated software to schedule production

* Keeps measurement equipment operating by enforcing adherence to operating instructions; calling for repairs

* Maintains safe and clean work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

* Assistance with maintaining the company operational procedures manual and monitoring adherence to the procedures by all employees

Essential skills and experience

* AutoCAD drafting skills and qualifications with at least 2 years' experience in a CAD role

* Able to conduct QC inspections

* Production planning

* Able to problem solve effectively and propose corrective actions

* Competent user of Microsoft Office Packages

* Excellent numeric and literacy skills

* Ability to build successful working relationships with colleagues and suppliers

* Good organisational and time management skills

* Pro-active and self-motivated

Would be an advantage to have

* Knowledge of manufacturing and/or fabrication methods and techniques

* Knowledge of 5s methodology

* Experience of production planning software

* Experience with quality management systems/processes
