Domiciliary care is provided to people who still live in their own homes but who require additional support with household tasks, personal care or any other activity that allows them to maintain their independence and quality of life. Anyone at any stage of life could require domiciliary care including those with learning disabilities, sensory impairment or physical disabilities. As a domiciliary care worker you will be an essential part of their daily routine and the person you are assisting is relying on you to maintain their independence. You will support and assist service users in all household duties and personal care tasks and devlelop relationships of mutual respect and trust with the service users, by being open in all forms of communication and by being continuously supportive.

From day one, we’ll help you progress and take on more responsibility. For example, you’ll be involved in developing individual care plans and supporting new colleagues. To succeed, you’ll need to be able to think on your feet, prioritise your own workload and keep accurate records. We’ll give you ongoing support and quality training to build your career.
