Exceptional interpersonal skills, warmth and empathy, and the ability to relate to a wide range of people are essential.Experience/training in mental health and/or counselling is not a pre-requisite. The key skill is to work collaboratively and to quickly problem-solve to meet identified needs. The majority of the current or previous Advisers do not have a mental health background.With our unique training and weekly supervision, you will learn to help people to find their own solutions to their problems through the use of self help materials and by linking them up with other relevant agencies.Doing Well Advisers are based in Health Centres and become an integral part of the Primary Care team.Informal enquiries to Jenny Hastings on
