Working as part of the Production, Logistics and Quality team you will participate in and promote continual improvement to the business and all aspects of 5S & lean manufacturing.
You will hold department responsibility in the absence of your manager and be able to keep an eye out in the day to day routine such as delivery schedules, collection agenda and dispatch arrangements.
·Work as part of the distribution team whilst upholding supervisory activities at the same point
·Ensuring delivery targets are met within the department
·Prioritising work in your department on behalf of senior management
·Liaising with heads of department on day to day issues in the absence of your manager
·Supervising the team members, upkeep of team moral and spirit
·Use of specific skills matrix as a tool for annual performance appraisals
·Training team members when required
·Report faults to the head of department
·General housekeeping in the department
·Health & Safety
·Proven experience in Distribution, dispatch and related industry processes
·Time management and prioritising work loads
·Understanding of basic technical terminology
·Positive attitude to changes within the company
·Proactive approach to problem solving
·Keeping up to date with global trends within shipping
·Be able to assist team members with manual tasks
·Health and safety conscious
·Motivated and have a positive outlook
