Our client operates from a major Distribution Centre and has a vacancy for a Team Manager


  • Directs operational activities for DC functions to meet People, Service and Cost expectations
  • Responsible for developing teams to best drive approach and to fulfil succession plans
  • Support and drive DC continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain positive relationships with Brand & Supply Chain partners
  • Engage teams in a way that fits with and furthers culture - Delivering Great Results and Creating a Great Place to Work, with the Customer at the heart


  • Lead and engage teams, managing them fairly and consistently, in a way that drives culture and supports our vision and values
  • Responsible for team member performance reviews, coaching and development to support succession plans
  • Plan, manage and adjust resource levels to meet operational requirements, enabling smooth running of the business and the achievement of all KPIs and SLAs
  • Create a great place to work, by facilitating effective communications, promoting Health & Safety best practice, plus helping develop a culture of continuous improvement
  • Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), ensure all employees are trained against SOP’s before they are operational and ensure compliance at all times
  • Contribute to and support future plans, as they evolve and progress the business


  • Interacts daily with teams to achieve operational objectives
  • Drives open communication with all levels of employees and management in the DC
  • Anticipates, understands and plays an active role in resolving any people issues
  • Engage with your fellow Team Managers and Leadership team, building effective and productive relationships
  • Identify and build relationships with key external stakeholders e.g. Head office, Retail stores, Carriers, etc.


  • Experience of leading and managing a team, with a proven ability to effectively use people management processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills, with a flexible approach to meeting business needs, plus good problem solving and decision making ability
  • Previous experience in a distribution environment, with a knowledge of end-to-end warehouse processes, ideally gained in an FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management systems and MS Office I.T packages
