Director of IT

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of IT to lead the charge, taking ownership for the delivery of an extensive technology agenda to enhance and improve our ability to deliver exceptional legal services to our clients. You will manage a strong, multi-disciplinary team and work closely with the senior leadership team to create a technology proposition which is directly aligned to the firm's strategic objectives.

Duties will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the management of IT activity to support the achievement of the firm's strategic priorities;

  • Promote the use of technology across the firm to facilitate growth, high quality client service, process efficiency and profitability;

  • Lead and Manage a team of 14 tech professionals across development, infrastructure, training and service desk;

  • Drive engagement within the team to foster a culture of innovation and positivity;

  • Coordinate and project manage the delivery of complex change programmes;

  • Develop, implement and drive consistency of IT processes and practices to meet business needs;

  • Establish and embed KPIs that evaluate IT management success and performance;

  • Manage the firm-wide IT budgets to ensure value for money and return on investment;

About You

Skills & Experience:

  • You will be operating at a senior level within a technology team within the professional services industry. Experience of being part of a senior leadership team is essential;

  • Managing a large team can be challenging so you will need to have previous experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams;

  • It is essential that you demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and can understand the firm's different business streams and consequently how to optimise the use of technology to enhance the delivery of legal services;

  • Strong ability to lead and project manage complex change projects is also essential. You will be able to implement, evaluate and analysis large-scale IT systems and specifications;

  • Whilst experience within the legal sector isn't essential, you will need to demonstrate experience within a similar environment and demonstrate an understanding of the nuances of working within a Partnership/ legal environment;

  • You will be educated to degree-level or equivalent and hold relevant professional qualifications.
