Our established and prestigious London based client is looking to recruit a confident and experienced Director of Fire Engineering to head-up their London office.

With exceptional and proven experience in strategic leadership roles within the fire safety / fire engineering sectors, and a passion for delivering a first class service to national clients, you will be responsible for the commercial leadership of the operation and it's experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of projects to contractual arrangements and agreed financial outcomes

  • Leadership, direction and mentoring to Associate Directors and beyond

  • Ensuring that appropriate resources and expertise are made available and that an appropriate project management frameworks are in place

  • Working directly with key clients to maintain and develop professional relationships which can secure repeat business

  • Presenting to clients and key stakeholders in a professional, responsive and client focused manner

  • Agreeing commercial strategies for bids and approving offers

  • Strategically expanding business and assisting with the delivery of business targets

  • Dealing with any contractual/commercial risks as soon as they are identified

  • Develop risk management strategies

  • Carrying out regular Project reviews including financial, commercial, risks and opportunities, delivery, health, safety, quality and environmental considerations, identifying and reporting and specific Client KPI's measured

  • Preparing bids, draft and negotiate consultancy contracts working with Commercial Manager

Key Experience & Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills both verbally and in writing

  • Flexible individual, team player, possesses great attention to detail, proactive and shows initiative whilst able to keep cool under pressure and when working to often demanding deadlines.

  • Ability to build and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities

  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as within a larger team

  • Ability to contribute to business strategy for growth and expansion

  • Client focused with excellent relationship management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Ability to support, with an encouraging approach to mentoring less experienced members of the team

  • Experienced at preparing and reviewing Project reports and planning

  • Ability to research information and data independently and ability to resolve contractual issues

  • Proven ability to keep control in pressed situations, deliver work within set timeframes and create a well-motivated team and ability to find solutions
