Direct Sourcing Specialist - Stockport - 38,000 / 40,000 plus bonus
ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Direct Sourcing Specialist with immediate effect for a global leading manufacturing company based in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
To work with the Operational Procurement Manager to ensure all Strategic and Operational activities are delivered on time and to target. Working with existing and potential suppliers to deliver supply chain solutions in alignment with the company’s strategic development plans, you will take commercial responsibility for designated areas of direct sourcing and spend control. Key supplier relationship development and management is also key on this role.
Supplier Management, Implement Strategy for Key suppliers in alignment with strategic requirements and develop the ongoing supplier relationship management programme.
Cost Down programme management is key, along with ensuring supply base has sufficient capacity to meet demand including future growth requirements. Alignment with Group Procurement Policy and Directives
Compilation of Reports, control direct Spend Analysis for allocated suppliers and produce Procurement Reports including KPI’s etc.. for presentation to Procurement Manager.
Continual development with supply base for cost improvements on direct spend, supporting Logistics with all Indirect spend i.e. Transport and Logistics services and be responsible for the adherence of our clients End User IT Security policy and Baseline IT Security policy.
Report any IT related security incidents as outlined in the appropriate IT Security policy and comply with all EH&S legislation and company procedures. Savings (Direct COGS cost reduction activities) Supplier based optimization and Monitoring OTD and DPPM analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of sourcing outside of the UK (highly desirable) Familiarity of working in multi-cultural negotiations with experience of working in cross-cultural teams.
Skills / Qualifications;
The successful candidate must have a willingness and desire to travel to external suppliers. Experience and understanding of ISO9001 (essential), ISO18001, TS16949 (desirable) - must be process minded. Experience and understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodology and willing to further develop Six Sigma skills (distinct advantage) with experience of sourcing for New Product Innovation.
