Our client is looking for an experienced manager to progress their Digital Inclusion programme which offers a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading charities.

The role of the Digital Inclusion Development Manager is to develop, manage and deliver a digital inclusion development programme across Pennine Lancashire that aims to:

  • increase digital inclusion amongst older people through engagement and support
  • increase digital maturity to ensure sustainability of the programme


  • Develop, manage and deliver a digital inclusion development programme which will support the local and external partners to increase the capacity to deliver digital inclusion activity for older people
  • Develop, test and embed a range of approaches, which offer a sustainable model to increase digital inclusion to meet the needs of local older people
  • Work with staff and volunteer teams to increase their digital skills and ability to engage with customers/service users to promote digital inclusion
  • Develop a digital champion role and promote this both internally and externally to recruit and maintain champions providing ongoing training and support
  • Work with the relevant staff in each service to recruit volunteers, developing appropriate roles to increase capacity to deliver a range of interventions and training to older people to increase digital inclusion
  • Work with relevant existing service teams to ensure digital inclusion in included in their operational approach to service delivery
  • Work with a range of local partners and networks to increase access to digital provision, developing complimentary activity and avoiding duplication
  • Lead on the marketing and promotion of the digital offer across Pennine Lancashire
  • Work with relevant staff to lead on the recruitment of volunteers to support the programme
  • Supervise the ongoing development of the programme and implement mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the programme, including through user feedback
  • Liaise with national partners, and represent the company when required
  • Be responsible for the effective delivery of the programme, ensuring it is within all organisational policies and legislative requirements
  • Develop, support and report into the local programme steering group
  • Maintain the operation of recording and administrative systems for the programme, to ensure accurate monitoring and evaluation information is available
  • Produce accurate reports, statistics and other paperwork as necessary to inform all parties regarding the development and delivery of the programme
  • Participate in exhibitions, seminars, conferences, talks etc to promote the programme


  • Comply with all company policies, including Health & Safety, Confidentiality and Equal Opportunities
  • Participate in promotional and social events, working with the Chief Executive and other members of staff to fundraise to ensure the continuity of the charity and its Blackburn with Darwen services
  • Perform other tasks associated with the job description as delegated by the Chief Executive with due regard to the skills of the Digital Inclusion Development Manager
  • Undertake any training as deemed necessary for the role


  • Flexible working is required for this role in order to meet urgent needs as and when required. This may include some evenings and weekends. 
  • Normal working hours are 9.00am - 17.00pm Monday to Friday
  • 4 weeks holiday per annum
  • Expenses for travel whilst at work are included
  • Fixed term contract until mid 2019
  • Training provided
