Job Duties


To support the Group Investor Relations and Communications team in creation and delivery of high quality, compelling content for use externally and internally via a variety of communications channels and media in support of Legal & General’s overall business, brand and broader communications objectives

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Support development of content for external communications such as annual reports, corporate website pages, video, blogs etc. that promote the success of the group with external and internal stakeholders such as shareholders, journalists, politicians and present and potential customers and employees

  • Work with the Head of IR and Policy and Communications Manager to curate, build and coordinate content suitable for use in digital and social media to support Group strategy and to keep it fresh and dynamic

  • Collaborate with other marketing communications functions across the business to identify relevant content produced at divisional levels that could be promoted at Group level and act as a consultant or 'trusted advisor’ to colleagues supporting the development and delivery of external facing communications in a way that delivers against their objectives and engages audiences

  • Build relationships with external marketing and communication agencies to develop creative, relevant content such as annual reports, results material, graphical display material and website pages

  • To provide regular review and analysis of readership, user experience and access analytics from the website, annual report etc to enable focused development of content and ongoing improvements to the communication channels

  • To provide up to date thought leadership on digital communications and recommend new initiatives across the Group’s Communication teams, taking into account the rapidly changing digital media and IT landscape

  • To provide regular support for announcement of results during the year

  • Participate in the online delivery of the annual report and accounts and CSR reports including technical design support, user experience and testing

  • To provide support on content development projects, such as analysis and research e.g. 'Let’s House Britain’ as well as events, presentation development and content generation for the CEO, Exco colleagues and internal communications digital channels

  • To provide timely ad hoc support in the event of a crisis in terms of updating the Group Website and social media channels

    Skills Required:

  • Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail with proven creative approach to communications

  • Energetic team-player with strong interpersonal skills able to work effectively with other functions across the business and able to build and maintain strong relationships

  • Good knowledge of digital communications media, understanding and experience of best practice in different delivery methods

  • Experience in using web Content Management Systems and technical aspects of web administration including analytics

  • Experience of contributing to a fast-moving projects with tight and/or immoveable deadlines with multiple stakeholders, workstreams and outputs with ability to work in team, sharing tasks and working in an agile and collaborative way to get the job done

  • Degree or equivalent required, but no specific financial background required
