Talented, Creative Digital Content Specialist ready for your next Contract?

Sat within a local Constabulary’s Digital Media Team (and part of the wider Comms team) whose responsibility is sat of setting the digital communications agenda for the force, an opportunity has arisen to offer support for 6 months, during a period of transition, as it migrates to a new intranet system.

Contributing to the production of content across a wide variety of mediums for the force’s internal and external websites, you'll maintain and administer the systems and processes behind them as well as organising, monitoring and publishing to the force’s social media channels as well as providing other digital-based services to the force.

A talent content producers/editor able to not only transition old content into a new form factor, you'll be able too, to generate new content from scratch from varied and
disparate sources, all of which done with a focus on shaping the content for web audiences, leveraging the features and functions a modern intranet can provide.

You'll have some influence on user experience aspects, collating information relating to user preferences and good design principles when deciding on template and content layout, as well as navigation.

Day to day, you'll find yourself:

• Writing content for a variety of internal and external audiences

• Assisting in large-scale content migrations, quality assurance and systems testing within new platforms

• Manging stakeholder expectations and relationships regards content ownership and development

• Training content editors within the force 

• Working with the Digital Media Manager, ensuring key milestones and deadlines in relation to team’s projects are met

• Supporting basic content updates on the force’s content management systems and social media channels

Naturally, you'll have previous, proven and professional experience of content production, in particular writing for the web and ideally for internal communications systems such as intranets.

You'll have an understanding of UX principles in relation to site navigation, structure and content layout, able to use CMS.

Strong communication skills are a given, both written and verbal (you'll be involved in some face to face training) along with a good command of the English language, attention to detail around grammar and style.

With experience in project planning, you'll be familar working to fixed milestones, able to be flexible, responding to changing demands and working to tight deadlines. Please note, there maybe a need to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

It goes without saying you'll be technical savvy, with experience of MS Office, HTML5, CSS3, various forms of JS, Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
