Join the largest ticket agency for London and help them create a new DevOps function!
We are undergoing a massive digital transformation. Our current IT infrastructure lacks cohesion and there is little set-up in terms of processes, policies and procedures. To turn this around, we have recently appointed a CTO, and we are now looking for a DevOps Manager to work very closely with the CTO to help him completely overhaul our existing IT operations and ensure we provide a fast, reliable, secure service, bringing all our current technology up to date, pushing the business forward as we scale and drive to the Cloud.
You also in time will be responsible for managing and maintaining a team of 3 Infrastructure engineers who range from 1st 3rd Line Support and help them adapt into full cloud-based environment.
To be a Successful DevOps Manager
As a DevOps Manager you will be bringing a considerable background in Linux engineering, you will have experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Regardless of whether you were part of a team or lead a project, you will be confident developing Infrastructure as code (e.g. using Ansible scripts), using containerisation such as Docker, as well as managing more traditional virtualised infrastructure.
You will have already scaled cloud infrastructure, ideally using AWS, but any experience of Azure or Google Cloud Platform could be considered, having overseen a smooth transition in a past role. As DevOps Manager you will have been the individual making recommendations to the business, being able to explain your reasoning and the value-add to the business.
You will have experience in tech-centric companies, working on internet-facing applications with a high availability SLA, ideally hosted in the public cloud and as someone who is looking to remain hands-on, you have working knowledge and experience with networking and security architecture and technologies, including VPN, MPLS, VoIP, SIP, IPS, WAF, etc.
As a DevOps manager you will be heavily involved in driving efficiency through implementing new engineering tools and process in your team and across a technology function. We expect you have a proven track record of scaling infrastructure through implementing change - maybe you've introduced a new procedure, process, tool or system that improved productivity.
We follow an approach based on continuous improvements and expect anyone who joins us to hold true to similar principles, coming from a background that has embraced DevOps and automation wherever possible.
You'll have previously lead a team of at least three people. This can have been in a formal or informal capacity. With this, you will have held some or all the following responsibilities: appraisals, identifying skills gaps, recruitment and daily goal setting.
This means that you will have been involved in a regular hiring processes. You don't need to necessarily have owned the process but will have been involved at interview.
