DevOps/ Cloud Consultant
Location: Nottingham City Centre
Required experience: Windows and/or Linux Server knowledge, Knowledge of AWS or Azure, Programming / Scripting (C#, C++, or Java etc) experience, Agile, Build / Release / Testing and interest in DevOps / Infrastructure Development!
Desirable experience: Continuous Delivery, Configuration Management, Virtual infrastructure
Working with perhaps one of the most technically dynamic companies in Nottingham, we are looking for a talented and technically DevOps/ Cloud Consultants to join their growing (and new) team.
You will work as part of a small, crack team of DevOps consultants, providing technical advice, insight and consultancy to internal and external customers. It’s a role where you’ll be given a lot of autonomy and responsibility not only for the work you do but for your own development also. Your job spec is pretty much to become awesome at what you do, continually learning, innovating and looking for better, smarter ways to achieve solutions for customers.
From day one you will be working on a variety of projects that will enable you to develop your skills in a range of new and cutting-edge technologies.
To be considered you must have commercial experience in a very technical network/infrastructure operations role, and a genuine interest and understanding of DevOps principles (infrastructure-as-code etc.) as well as cloud based platforms (AWS preferred).
Anyone from a programming/development background with exposure to cloud technologies and an interest in becoming a DevOps engineer will also be considered. Equally, Network/Infrastructure engineers who want to move into DevOps will be considered if they can show a high level of conceptual understanding of DevOps combined with some real-world Cloud experience with either AWS or Azure.
The following mixture of experience is of interest for this role:
1) Experience working with Cloud based platforms (AWS a bonus)
2) Programming / Scripting (in C#, Java, C++, Python, PHP, Perl, Powershell or BASH / Korn etc.).
3) Windows Server (2008 / 2012 r2 etc.)
4) Linux operating systems and related tools (RabbitMQ, Riak, Redis etc.)
5) Network monitoring (e.g. Nagios)
6) Configuration management (Puppet, Chef etc.)
7) Build and Deployment (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo, Octopus Deploy)
8) Virtual Infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V etc.)
On offer is a salary ranging between £55k-£75k, depending on experience. You will also get the opportunity to go on courses to improve your knowledge and gain certifications too.
