The Development Underwriter will inherit a certain number of existing Broker relationships in the area and will be expected to be proactive role in maximising these relationships. The incumbent will also target new Brokers, including small-mid sized independents and some nationals. Will be actively involved in case-underwriting a range of commercial risks, with a bias towards Property and Casualty (premiums currently average £3k).This is a fast paced role, suited to an individual with a composite Insurer or MGA background who is looking to step away from a large company environment towards a smaller team environment with the opportunity to take real ownership of the relationships you hold and the cases you underwrite.
To be considered for this role it is essential to have a proven track record in new business underwriting, particularly in Commercial Combined risks. Solid trading and negotiation skills with Brokers are key and existing Broker contacts in the region would be highly sought.
