Development Underwriter - South East
Job title: Regional Development Underwriter - Kent | Essex |South East
Salary: £45k - £55k plus car allowance
Location: Homebased - with average 3 days per week mobile
Purpose of role:
Due to growth and expansion within their commercial offering, this well regarded name in the industry is seeking and experienced commercial underwriter to join their development team. The role will be responsible for underwriting mid-market commercial products on a new business basis, developing and maintaining broker relationships and ensuring panel/regional growth.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for new business pipelines and attend client visits as needed, taking on the responsibility of underwriting your own caseload.
- Leveraging your market expertise, you'll adopt a comprehensive underwriting approach, collaborating with cross-divisional teams.
- Your role will involve identifying new mid-market sectors and enhancing business propositions.
- Contribute to the identification and acquisition of new business, driving growth in gross written premiums across mid-market commercial and Property & Liability.
- Key point for contacts handling referrals, strategy and risk appetite
Experience:
- Strong Property & Liability/commercial underwriting experience, particularly within the mid-market segment is essential
- Development underwriting experience is desirable
- Track record of successfully cultivating and managing relationships
- Strong communicator and excellent diary management
- As a confident communicator, lead and influence discussions and decisions with integrity.
- Possessing a Dip CII or equivalent qualification is also desirable.
