Development Project Manager - Social Housing - About The Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a well-established housing association based in Cheshire. This registered provider are embarking on significant growth to their existing new build development programme and are looking to recruit a Development Project Manager on a permanent basis.

Development Project Manager - About The Role:

  • To take ownership and deliver a variety of development and remodeling projects through strong cohesive project management to full Homes and Communities Agency and internal audit requirements
  • Ensure the maintenance of financial and general records of all schemes managed and inform Senior Management of any potential non-qualifying costs and to exercise cost control at all times
  • Liaising with solicitors, local authorities and other agencies as appropriate
  • Instruct consultants and contractors in accordance with the Association’s procedures.
  • Manage, monitor and report regularly on the performance of consultants and contractors and progress of projects
  • To work with the agency Clerk of Works in the supervision of works on site and including any issuing instructions in accordance with procedures, ensuring the quality of works meets the specification as set by legislation and Homes and Communities Agency requirements
  • Attend site meetings and handovers ensuring Housing Services colleagues are fully engaged in the development process
  • Assist in the identification of sites and buildings for acquisition, development or leasing and carry out an initial outline feasibility study
  • To maintain and develop existing links with Local Authority partners
  • Contribute towards scheme design in accordance with the design brief and regeneration design issues in relation to environmental improvements
  • Maintain an awareness of local housing and community needs and development opportunities

Development Manager - Social Housing - What You Need:

  • Extensive project management experience of new-build affordable housing schemes - Essential
  • Experience of the HCA Funding bidding process and the IMS System - Desirable
  • Experience working within the development team of a registered social housing provider - Desirable
