Despatch Team Leader

My client based in Barnham is seeking a Despatch Team Leader to join their team. The right candidate will have experience working within depatch and previous team leading responsibilites are preffered.

Hours of work are Monday - Friday 07.45 - 16.30.

Interviews will be commencing immediately.

Additional duties are as follows:

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard.

  • To ensure the quality of plants despatched are the right standard.

  • To be responsible for keeping the Danish trolley stock at the correct level.

  • To lead and motivate the despatch team and/or any other cultural teams

  • Induction and basic health and safety rules set out to all new staff/ agency.

  • To monitor work output of individuals and teams ensuring that they are reaching the set rates for the work being carried out.

  • To print off all relevant paperwork for despatch i.e.: printing loop locks, rate sheets, Trolley dockets and lifting lists and to ensure they are available when required.

  • Liase with stock control to identify which batch the despatch team will need to lift from.

  • Identify to the lifting team where the correct area on the nursery the plants for despatch should be lifted from.

  • To carry out a fortnightly trolley stock check.

  • To ensure the site is kept in a tidy and neat fashion.

  • To report any Pest and Disease found to the relevant people.

  • To ensure that Health and Safety rules are followed correctly.

  • You will be required to join the weekend duty rota for watering.

  • Join up with picking/packing teams when necessary.

  • You will be required to work on any of the plants sites.

  • Unloading/loading of vehicles with forklift (license required)
