Tuesday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm

Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm

£8.55 per hour rising to £9.00 per hour subject to satisfactory completion of training/probation (typically 6 months)

Gap Personnel operating as an employment business are recruiting for a Despatch Operative for our client in Chard.

This role is in the Packing and Despatch department reporting to the Packing and Despatch Manager.

The role will involve the following:

·Ensuring all cheese is cleared for use and is despatched to the correct quality standards.

·Ensuring the correct cheese and packaging is issued to departments in a timely manner.

·Loading and unloading vehicles (approx. 1-2 per day), completing supplier monitoring tasks as appropriate.

·Working with the Supervisor to optimise cheese stocks, rotating stock and minimising waste.

·Maintaining full traceability of products through the packing and despatch process, including use of the EFACS system.

·Working safely and following Company Health and Safety policies and work instructions.

·Operation of equipment in the area.

·Ensuring work areas and equipment are cleaned as set out in the cleaning schedule.

·Accurately completing any associated administration.

·Start and finish times may be varied

·Working pattern will be kept as stable as possible, but flexibility may be required for changes to working days to meet business demands

·Working on some Bank Holidays if required

The ideal candidate will have the following:

·Ability to read, write and speak good English, including numerical information.

·Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

·Forklift and Electric Pallet Truck licences.

·Food Hygiene Level 2 (training provided).

·HACCP Level 2 (training provided).

·COSHH (training provided).

·Ability to be a supporting and flexible team member.

·Be diligent in following instructions.

·Able to work at a fast pace without compromising quality or safety.

·Understand the importance of food hygiene, traceability and safety and how to achieve the required standards.

·Understand and apply safe working practices.
