I am working with a wonderful secondary school based in St. Albans who require a full time Design Technology Teacher on a full time basis starting September 2024.

Full-time/0.8fte

Start date: September 2024 (July for ECTs)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher to join our Design & Technology Department. Design & Technology is a highly popular option at our school and enjoys a prominent profile throughout the institution. More information about our strengths in Design & Technology can be found on our website.

The successful candidate will teach Design Technology at GCSE level and ideally at A-level. They will also teach KS3 on a carousel basis, so the ability to teach all D&T disciplines will be beneficial (the department already has significant expertise in Food Preparation).

Must Have:

  • Relevant degree in Design & Technology or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at GCSE level
  • Ability to teach Design & Technology at A-
  • Proficiency in teaching various D&T disciplines at KS3
  • Experience in Food Preparation (beneficial, but not essential)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Enthusiasm for the subject and the ability to inspire students
