Design Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Design Engineer to join a dynamic team in the development of high voltage power conversion products. This is an on-site role based in West Sussex, and due to the location, a driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers to agree on unit specifications and design requirements.
- Design and develop high voltage power conversion products and associated equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Research and implement new design techniques to enhance performance, including higher stability, lower noise, and faster polarity reversing.
- Accurately document designs for manufacturing and testing purposes.
- Confirm designs through testing, simulation, and calculation to ensure they meet requirements.
- Ensure designs are cost-effective and optimized for manufacturing and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Manage assigned projects from concept to completion, providing continued support while the product is in service.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Experience: Strong background in the design and development of high voltage power conversion products.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with up-to-date components, technologies, and manufacturing techniques.
- Knowledge of PCB layout and mechanical packaging constraints.
- Experience in UC design with respect to analogue control/systems is desirable.
- Proficient in Schematic Capture using CADSTAR (desirable).
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with customers and internal teams.
- Driving license: Required due to the office location.
