Design Engineer

Location: Hastings, Saint Leonards-on-sea

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

Our client is a rapidly growing, modern thinking, world leader in their field and manufactures very high temperature heaters and vacuum furnaces used in the semiconductor and thin film vacuum deposition industries.

They are looking for an experienced design engineer to join their existing engineering team.

The role will require the candidate to take complete control of new orders from design through to assembly, test and installation. The engineer will liaise with the customer to produce an acceptable heater design. Once the outline design is approved, detailed drawings and a full BOM will be produced and passed to purchasing for ordering.

When all parts have been manufactured, the engineer will build and test the heater. Once the test results are approved by the customer, the heater will be dispatched, and in some cases on site installation will be required. My client exports over 80% of their products to North America, Europe or Japan / Asia will be required.

They’re looking for a well organised, experienced engineer, with good knowledge of solid modelling software, we are just changing from Solid Edge to the latest solid works. The candidate should have a degree or equivalent in Engineering, with subsequent engineering design experience. A knowledge / experience of the vacuum deposition industry would also be a big advantage.

We require the candidate to work 40 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times and an early finish on Fridays. Our typical working hours are start between 8 and 9 and finish between 5 and 6 Mon - Thurs, 8-2 on Friday.
