The starting salary for this role is £27,991 per annum based on a 36 hour working week. About the TeamThe Deputyship Team is a frontline service within Adult Social Care responsible for managing the finances of people who lack the capacity to manage their own financial affairs. The team is based in Quadrant Court, Woking but operates countywide, working closely with colleagues across Adult Social Care.At any one time, the team support a high caseload of circa 700-800 people. The busy nature of our work and the high turnover of cases means that this is a role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.The role As a Caseworker, you will manage your own caseload. This can involve preparing applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Deputy for Property and Affairs, managing the finances of people who need financial decisions to be made on their behalf, or visiting the person to ensure their property is maintained. No two cases are the same.We are looking for enthusiastic people who are well-organised, able to work independently under pressure while also being good team players. Good communication and investigative skills are essential as there will be the need to regularly advocate on behalf of people who lack mental capacity; this can at times be challenging work.Some relevant experience of either financial management, working in adult social care, or the welfare benefit system is essential.
