Deputy Ward Manager

Vetro Recruitment are seeking a talented Deputy Ward Manager (RMN/RNLD) with the commitment, experience and motivation to lead our 12 bedded adolescent unit in Ebbw Vale providing care and treatment for adolescents aged 13-18 years old. Admissions are accepted from a number of sources nationwide, from NHS and other independent providers. The ward has a full Multidisciplinary team consisting of a medical consultant, staff grade speciality doctor, psychologist, occupational therapist and a link with our social work department.

The successful applicant will be an experienced RMN/RNLD who can demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the ability to clinically develop the ward through effective staff management, monitoring clinical standards and practice. You will work closely with the Lead Nurse and Director of Clinical Services to achieve the hospital targets and ensure the delivery of high quality care. You will be able to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to generate referrals and manage partnership working. The post holder will have 24 -hour responsibility for staffing and the effective running of the unit and will also participate in the hospitals On-Call system.

You will possess excellent communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal and be highly organised with good problem- solving skills and the ability to motivate others. Most importantly, you will be passionate about delivering exceptional standards of care; priding yourself on being a role model by adhering to the NMC Code of conduct and demonstrate a real desire to improve and develop our recovery based services.

Essential Criteria

Valid NMC Pin number

Strong and boundary approach to care delivery

2 years post qualifying experience minimum.

Experience working in CAMHs or adolescent mental health unit
