Are you a payroll expert? Do you have knowledge and experience of managing processing employee pension schemes? We are seeking a skilled candidate to join a friendly team as a deputy payroll team leader for an accountancy practice in Taunton.
The successful candidate would be responsible for assisting with managing the payroll process for the firm and allocating work to the payroll assistants. They will be the "go to"person for any payroll queries both from clients and for staff in the absence of the payroll manager, so it is essential they are friendly and approachable. The role will be deadline driven so we will be looking for someone who is well organised and works well under pressure. They will be responsible for ensuring all payroll related information is kept up to date and processed in accordance with company guidelines.
Managing pension schemes will also be a key responsibility for this role, including processing pensions each month including opt outs, postponements, making payments to pension schemes and dealing with correspondence. The successful person will also be responsible for chasing any pension schemes staging in the next three months and keeping lists of pensions up to date. They will also be responsible for liaising with the in-house IFA regarding pension schemes and ensuring compliance at all times with industry regulations.
To apply we are looking for candidates to have experience in a similar role, with a good all round knowledge of payroll and pension schemes. They will need to be IT literate and ideally have previously managed a small team or be looking for their first step into a management role.
